Day 5 starts with meeting at the hotel lobby at 9 a.m. and head out to Sham Sui Po by MTR. After arriving we stop by a YKK store, for those that uses zippers they can buy and order there but since I don’t need zippers I just look around. After that I went to Moon Yue to consult with my lecturer again about the fabric that I need and went to Wa Fat to search for the fabric that he suggested. I also look around other stores for more fabric samples.

At 1 p.m. we grouped up at Sham Sui Po MTR station before going to Kwun Tong where we’ll have a little seminar at the Woolmark Office. At about 1.30 p.m. we head out to Kwun Tong and after arriving there we make a little visit to another YKK store. After that we head to the Woolmark Office, we learned about wool especially Merino wool.

They teach us about the advantages of wool, how they attain and process them. We get to see samples of wool that haven’t been processed and different types of them.

The speaker also shows us the product of wool innovation that Woolmark has developed, like T-shirt from 100% wool, denim made of cotton and wool blend, a summer dress that’s made of wool and water-proof wool jacket.

We also get to see some of the designs from Hong Kong designers that become the finalists of the Woolmark Prize.

Furthermore, we get to look at the fabric that The Wool Lab of Woolmark have produced to be presented to clients. They are divided by categories like menswear, womenswear, denim, and sportswear. Each with themes and inspirations, complete with pictures that gives the mood of the collections of fabrics.

After looking through the fabric samples, we said goodbye and thank you to the speakers of the Woolmark Office and went on our way back to the hotel.
